Notes on the Quality of Rosemary Extract in Simple Mills Products

Having inquired about the specific product ingredients, I received an answer from Simple Mills regarding the standards of rosemary extract in several of their products. Based on the email reply, the rosemary extract is unrefined and blended with organic, high oleic, expeller-pressed sunflower oil and water.

Research indicates expeller pressing is "a mechanical process that physically squeezes the oil out of the seeds using a screw press, applying intense pressure and friction, but without the use of chemical solvents like hexane. The process may generate some heat due to friction, but no external heat or chemicals are added."
